NOTES OF ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON RULES - 1944
This rule is based on Act of June 29, 1940 (54 Stat. 688; 18 U.S.C. 687 (now 3771)). It is substantially the same as Rule 86 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (28 U.S.C., Appendix).
NOTES OF ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON RULES - 2002
Rule 59, which dealt with the effective date of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, is no longer necessary and has been deleted.
